Chocolate Snakeroot is a native herbaceous perennial with sharp-toothed dark green lace-like foliage that has a chocolate tint.  Fluffy white flowers bloom in flat clusters atop of striking purple stems from late summer into fall.  Blooms best in part shade and humusy medium to wet well-drained soil.  Chocolate Snakeroot has improved shade tolerance and is drought tolerant once established.
