Pagoda Dogwood is a small, low branching native deciduous tree with horizontal tiered branching and alternating dark green leaves with paler undersides that turn dark red in fall. The flat fragrant clusters of small creamy white flowers bloom from late spring into summer and attracts butterflies, and are followed by orange-red fruits.  Prefers part sun and moist, well-drained acidic soil.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Prone to leaf scorching or spots in full sun.  Stressed Dogwoods are susceptible to leaf spot, crown canker, root rot, powdery mildew, blight, and anthracnose.  Anthracnose can be a serious problem.  Mulching will help keep roots cool in summer.
