Compact Pieris is a dense mounded evergreen shrub with glossy dark green foliage that emerges copper. The drooping clusters of buds emerge in summer and persist through winter before finally blooming into clear white flowers in mid spring. Best bloom in part sun with slightly acidic and moist well-drained soils.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: High Maintenance. Water regularly. Remove spent flowers immediately. Lace bug infections can be a serious problem. Watch for scale, mites, and nematodes. Dieback and leaf spots are occasional problems.
