Blue Vervain is a native herbaceous perennial with a stiff, upright habit and hairy stems sporting sharply toothed lance-like leaves.  The thin flower spikes packed tiny purple-blue flowers at the top bloom from mid summer into fall, attracting butterflies.  Grows best with full sun and medium to wet well-drained soils.
