Parkland Pillar Birch an attractive deciduous tree with a very narrow and upright habit and striking white bark. The dense deep green foliage turns rich gold in late fall. Grows best with afternoon shade in the south and in moist to wet, well drained loamy soils. Parkland Pillar is tolerant of heat drought, and alkaline soils.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance. Rarely need pruning, but if needed prune in dormant season, and do not prune in spring when sap runs. Stressed plants more susceptible to cankers. Potential pests include aphids, birch leaf miner, birch skeletonizer and dieback.
