If you are looking for a deep purple shade tree that wont burn out in the hot summer sun Crimson Sunset® is the tree for you! A hybrid between A. truncatum and A. platanoides and with these two as parents you get a upright, compact form with deep purple foliage that resembles A.Crimson King. It flourishes in the summer heat where few purple leafed plants will grow. The fall color is quite eye catching and morphes from the deep purple to a maroon and finally a rich reddish-bronze.
